POETRY WORKSHOP 2009

Planning for 2009, we intend to embark on series of Workshops in collaboration with Organisations and Government Parastatas. This is to continue our Quarterly Workshop, which the first was tagged: Paper / Drama Presentation on Women and Youths.

Currently, we are working on a long term project ( Poetry Workshop, which is tentatively tagged: Words and Sages). We intend to go to Secondary Schools both Government and Private to teach poetry as a form of art/literature and also how to use poetry as social commentary vice that will mediate between the society and government.

Also, we will be collecting publishable works from our Quarterly Workshop that will focus on the up-coming poets and the works collected will be publish as an anthology, which will be sold and distributed to respective schools and libraries. Money realized from this project will be plow back into the organisation's operations to be able to embark on other charitable projects (POETRY POTTER been the foremost), as the orgnisation is a non-governmental and not for profit making one.

As well, this project also has Empowerment as its feature. Being able to pass your message(s) across through performance is what sells most in the Entertainment Industry and therefore, we will be introducing participant to Small Scale Entrepreneurship: will of making money through you creative ingenuity. Lord of Ajasa, Mode 9, Sage Has.San, Ruggedman, 9ice and 2Phat are few who have made it through Spoken Word in the Entertainment Industry.

This project, which shall be done with collaboration with different relevant organisations, will have its resource persons majorly from the Arts and Entertainment Industry. Sage Has.San, Iqua Eke, Cornerstone and Aare are going to be our foremost resource persons.

We plan to start sometime in February 2009.
